REMEDIAL MASSAGE

2018-10-13 21.44.01.jpg

If you suffer from muscle tension or chronic pain, then a REMEDIAL MASSAGE may be for you. Our remedial therapist will assess what may be causing your pain and where you need treatment. Special tests are carried out to determine which muscles are giving you troubles and a treatment plan is put into place to answer your specific needs.

Conditions such as headaches, stiff necks, sciatica, carpal tunnel, lower back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, sports injuries, fibromyalgia and chronic pain and, many more complaints can be eased with a remedial massage. At Advanced Remedial Massage, we adopt a holistic approach to remedial massage by blending in flowing relaxation techniques to reduce overall pain with the least possible discomfort. We may also combine mild trans-cutaneous electrical nervous stimulation with our manual treatments, as required, to further enhance patients’ comfort and ease pain.

Remedial massage can provide lasting relief from pain and muscle tension and get you back to moving again.

GERIATRIC MASSAGE

GERIATRIC MASSAGE is the professional term for massage for the elderly. The aging body encounters changes to systems in the body. Your body may be more sensitive to pressure, your joints may work differently, and your muscles and bones may be more vulnerable.  At Advanced Remedial Massage, we have thus perfected different remedial massage techniques that will suit the varying needs and preferences of the frail and the elderly. We thus employ light, gentle massage strokes and passive stretching techniques to ease muscle tension without excessive friction or pressure on the skin, muscles, and joints. Geriatric massage benefits those who are less physically active by helping to:

  • Increase blood circulation

  • alleviate pain and stiffness in joints

  • improve posture and functionality

  • keep the body active and moving

  • Improve sleep quality

  • Reduce stress, ease anxiety and provide an overall sense of well-being

SPORTS MASSAGE

Any person engaged in regular physical activity will benefit from a Sports Massage. It is designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue (muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia) that are caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. The application of sports massage, prior to and after exercise, treats muscle soreness and fatigue, enhances performance, aids recovery and prevents injuries. DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE involves firmer pressure and will work for you if you crave that good-pain feeling of focused strokes on tough spots.
